The Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough will present Teddy Roosevelt: Mind Body and Spirit, on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00 pm. Actor and author Ted Zalewski brings to life one of America’s greatest presidents. Combining history, drama, and fun, TR gives voice to many of Roosevelt’s own words, writings, and beliefs. Cowboy, soldier, naturalist, historian, father, statesman, and winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace, Theodore Roosevelt lived a life that inspires us still. Get ready for a “bully” time with Teddy Roosevelt: Mind, Body and Spirit. A video of Ted Zalewski’s performance has been permanently placed in the National Archives, Washington, D.C. He has appeared at a number of Presidential Libraries, including the Reagan, Ford, and Hoover libraries. He has appeared at the White House, the Smithsonian Institution, and The National Theater. |

New Genealogy Database Now Available to Boxborough Library Patrons The Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough now subscribes to Ancestry Library Edition, a database with over 6 billion names in which more than 4,000 databases (international in scope) are brought together and can be searched easily from one home page, such as: U.S. census, military and court records, directories and many more. Due to subscription constraints, Ancestry Library Edition, which differs in appearance from the home edition, is available for IN Library Use only. This new electronic database is made possible by a generous donation from the Sargent Memorial Library Foundation. Reference USA Online Business Directory The Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough has recently purchased another new electronic database. Reference USA is the leading provider in business and consumer research. It has a detailed listing of businesses with the ability to search by company name, type of business, geography, business size and more. Reference USA helps users create marketing plans, conduct competitive analysis, and locate people. Originally designed for use as a reference and research tool for students and job seekers, the database has powerful search features and can be used for company identification, direct marketing, telemarketing, market research, sales lead generation, sales planning, customer analysis and credit decisions. Reference USA is a subscription database that contains information on more than twelve million U.S. businesses and one million Canadian businesses. The Sargent Memorial Library as part of its continuing mission to serve the needs of the community announced the addition of the new online investing research tool Morningstar Investment Research Center to its electronic database reference collection. Morningstar Investment Research Center gives Sargent Memorial Library patrons another valuable investing resource. The service is from Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of independent investment research, in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Library patrons interested in stocks and funds will have access to valuable Morningstar’s premium information. This includes Morningstar analysts’ independent opinion on 1,700 stocks, 2,200 mutual funds, and 300 exchange rated funds. Morningstar Investment Research Center also offers accurate, up-to-date data on 35,000 stocks and funds, along with industry and market data. The database lets users build and test portfolio ideas online, and provides financial education through its Investing Classroom. This new electronic database is funded by a donation from the Sargent Memorial Library Foundation. |
