The Sargent Memorial Library Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, charitable organization, whose purpose is to raise funds to support the activities of the Sargent Memorial Library in the Town of Boxborough.
The Foundation will, from time to time, make gifts to the library through the Boxborough Board of Library Trustees for library books and materials improvements.
The Foundation contributions will not be used for normal operating expenses or maintenance of the library.
General Donations are accepted at any time with any amount appreciated. Donations of $500 and above are uniquely recognized on the “Giving Tree” located in the library main hall. Gifting levels are recognized according to the chart below:

2011-2012 Annual Fund Drive
The 2011-2012 Annual Fund Drive has begun! Thanks to the generous support of people like you, in the past years the Foundation has contributed to the library and the Boxborough community in the following ways:
- Assistance in funding the Garabedian Trail, dedicated in June 2011, which links the Sargent Memorial Library and Blanchard Memorial School. This was made possible by gifts to the Foundation in memory of Library Trustee Elaine Garabedian.
- Purchase of several new databases for use by library patrons, including Consumer Reports; Mango Languages online language learning system; A to Z to USA, an online database offering extensive information on all 50 U.S. states, territories, and the District of Columbia; Morningstar Investment Research; Reference USA Business Directory; and Ancestry.com
- Contribution to the CWMARS library network’s digital download catalog, Overdrive, to expand the digital books available for download by patrons.
The library is a busy, community place, with more than 85,000 visits in 2010’s fiscal year. Circulation increased 17% to 153,626 items, and an astounding 83% of Boxborough residents hold library cards!
Donations are fully tax-deductible and may be dropped off at the library or mailed to Sargent Memorial Library Foundation, 326 Sargent Rd., Boxborough, MA.
