Duties of the Library Board of Trustees include:
- Develop and provide library services and programs which meet the town's needs.
- Determine and adopt policies that govern operation of the library.
- Maintain the library facility and determine building needs.
- Set the annual budget and approve expenditures.
- Apply for and administer special grants and aid for library uses.
- Determine staff levels and structure and hire personnel.
- Act as liaison to other town boards.
- Represent the library at town meeting.
